Participants in the CSS Certification program that successfully complete the four core assessments and the four functional assessments are eligible for a $200 per month differential payment.
To receive these payments please follow these steps:
- Complete and sign the Certification Program Monthly Differential and Recertification Application (03GN522E).
- Send the application to your approving supervisor to sign.
- Once all signatures are done the application needs to be sent to the CSS Certification Office. Click on the Submit button on the form to send it via email. (Please do not mail the form it must be sent via email)
The applications for payment are processed once per quarter. All requests for payments in the CSS Certification program are submitted at one time. The list of those participants that have completed a functional area, became fully certified, and those that recertified are sent on one form to the Director of CSS to review and approve. The form is then sent to the Director of Children’s Services for their approval. It is then sent to HR to process.
The differential payment will be included with the participant’s regular paycheck after it is processed by HR. The exact date of the payment will depend on when the final assessment was completed and the processing deadlines for HR. Only one payment can be submitted per quarter for each participant. The differential payment will not be process with the $688 payment for passing the final functional assessment. It will be processed the next quarter. The participant will receive a full two years of the differential. To continue to receive the differential after two years the participant can take the recertification assessment.
