Since the CSML indicator should not be the sole source of determining if daycare assistance is being provided, here are some training tips on how to properly research whether daycare assistance is being received.
- View the CHI/U screen to check for a reference C/H/J case.
- Go to the reference case to check for the active benefits.
- CM_C/H/J case
- Daycare will be coded
“K” [a: active, r: removed]
If there isn’t a reference case on the CHI/U screen do a PY or SSN search.
- PY_SSN# or SSN_SSN#
- Check all listed C/H/J cases for active benefits
- CM_C/H/J case
- Daycare will be coded
“K” [a: active, r: removed]
Please note it is always a good idea to run the child(ren)’s SSN as you may find they are listed on more than one active case.
If guidelines need to be prepared and there is active daycare, check the EE screen for the daycare co-pay amount (Line E53).
Please be aware that IV-A does not calculate income in the same manner as CSS, therefore income listed on the EE screen should not be used for our child support guidelines.
The EE screen can be accessed from the selected C/H/J case by simply entering EE.
