Finance Action Request Guidelines

The following guidelines explain what information the Center for Finance and Budget (CFB) needs in order to complete the Finance Adjustment Request (FAR). If the following guidelines are not met, the request will be returned to the district office for necessary updates/corrections.

Finance Action Request Guidelines

  • Be specific about the problem that has occurred.
  • Describe what action you are requesting (ex: Refund NCP, CP1>2, P>C, etc.)
  • Clearly state the total dollar amount of the adjustment.
  • Please update case balances to accommodate the request. If you are unsure about the required balance updates, please refer to your arrearage computation numbers or your finance supervisor.
  • If the request is for an adjustment due to incorrect balances and it is over $500, please attach an electronic arrearage computation to your request. This will help our adjusters see the detail behind the overall problem and prevent additional contact between offices, further delaying the completion of the request.
  • If the request is due to a court order, please attach a scanned copy of the court order to your request.

Finance action requests that do not meet these specifications will be returned to your office along with the reason for the return. A new request will need to be submitted once necessary updates are made.
