10A O.S. § 1‐2‐101(B) & (C)

CSS professionals are required to disclose to the proper authorities information concerning known or suspected abuse or neglect of children.

Any person having reason to believe a child under the age of eighteen is a victim of abuse or neglect they have the legal responsibility to promptly report the matter to OKDHS.

Reporting may be done telephonically through the Child Abuse Hotline for the county or for the State of Oklahoma at 1-800-522-3511. The hotline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Failure to comply with state law to report subjects the individual to a criminal investigation and potential misdemeanor.

Child Protective Services (CPS) provides assistance through DHS to identify, treat and prevent child abuse and neglect.
