This article describes docketing child support orders in Child Welfare (CW) cases. Any child support order entered by the deprived court judge should be docketed in district court and maintained in the case file for enforcement. Child support orders must also be docketed prior to being modified unless the order is being modified in the juvenile court.
Prior Child Support Order or Case
If there was a child support order prior to the one entered in the deprived action, docket the juvenile court child support order under the preexisting district court case number and enforce it for current child support and arrearages.
No Prior Child Support Order or Case
If there was no prior administrative or district court case, docket and file the juvenile court child support order in a new district court family division action and enforce it for current child support and arrearages.
