This article provides guidance on how to contact a Child Welfare Worker.
Sometimes you may need to contact someone in Child Welfare (CW). One way to determine which employee is the relevant person to a Child Support Services (CSS) case is to view the Case Member List screen (CMMM) for the CW case number (e.g., KK12345678).
- Type CMM (space) KK, C, or H case number;
- The CW worker is generally listed under the WORKERS NAME field.
If the case has been reassigned but the employee has not been updated on the CMM screen, the information may not be accurate. Another OSIS screen available for this purpose is the Section Z Signature screen (GZ). An additional source for the CW worker name is the eKIDS system. In the CASE SUMMARY information, the Last Worker is listed.
Change in Placement Notification Form
Each time there is a change in type of placement for the child, a Change in Placement Notification form is completed by the CW worker. The Change in Placement Notification Form (CIP) notifies CSS the child has moved from one place to another. Once the CIP is received in the local office, the child support case should be reviewed for proper action. CW workers are required to send a copy to CSS. The CW worker sends the form to the CSS office in their area. However, if the CSS case is assigned to another CSS office, forward the form to the appropriate office. Child Welfare is also required to send a copy to the custody specialist.
