When performing locate searches on customers in juvenile cases, it is important to remember that they are frequently on the move and so utilizing all available resources is imperative. Some customers may live in shelters, be incarcerated, or have no permanent address (let alone an address of record).
Locating NCPs involved in a deprived case takes patience. Using KIDS/eKIDS is a very good start to working a deprived case because the Child Welfare Worker may have information that you do not. Some district offices may provide locate information to the District Attorney’s office or child welfare to assist with service so it is important to be familiar with all locate resources.
