What is CSENet?

What is CSENet?

The CSENet application was conceived and developed by the federal Office of Child Support Services (OCSS) in the early 1990s before the introduction of the Child Support Portal (QUICK, EDE, Communication Center, etc.). CSENet facilitates and supports automated transmission of interstate child support information. State systems electronically initiate and respond to child support case activities in other states for:

  • locating noncustodial parents (NCP)
  • establishing paternity and support obligations
  • enforcing support orders and collection of monies
  • gathering additional case information

This custom application suite has been designed to receive, validate and store standardized transactions between state child support systems.

The Child Support Enforcement Network (CSENet) is a nationwide communication network linking state child support agencies.  Using this network states send standardized transactions to each other sharing information such as locate data, establishment information, and collection information. The network serves as a conduit for information sharing between state automated child support systems.
