Action Work List (AWL) Messages

Action Work List (AWL) messages are tools for caseworkers and supervisors to use to determine what actions need to be taken on any particular case.
Caseworker: When the AWL screen is accessed by a caseworker (AWL), messages will be displayed for the worker currently logged on to that terminal.  AWL messages can also be accessed by FGN (AWLF sp FGN).
Supervisor: A supervisor can use AWL messages as a management tool by accessing a worker’s list (AWLW sp Worker’s User ID). The list begins with the most recent action added to AWL and ends with the least current action.
Each message has a prefix to indicate the urgency of the action to be taken. These prefixes are generated by the system and are based on the following criteria:

  • The Eligible Date is the date the FGN meets all the conditions to create an action work list message, and is the date a ‘1st Notice‘ prefix will be displayed with the message on the worker’s AWL list.
  • A ‘Reminder’ Notice is generated if the system-established reminder date is prior or equal to the current date and prior to the due date.
  • A ‘Warning’ Notice is generated if the due date is prior or equal to the current date. The Due Date is the date by which action must be taken.

  • AWL Message Chart: The following chart (created in April 2008) outlines the Action Work List messages that can be generated by OSIS (in alphabetical order), with the Message, when created (creation criteria), eligible date, reminder notice date, warning notice date, and when deleted (deletion criteria):

  • More than 29 months have passed since the more recent of (1) the most current order effective date, or (2) the review completed date
  • There is not an open review
