For Legal Status and Hearing codes, this list explains when to use the codes and what they are used for.
Legal Status The legal relationship between a Non-custodial parent (NCP) and child.
Legal Status M case: Paternity has not been established, adjudicated and no support ordered.
EPOC is used to establish a paternity action (paternity and obligation). Creates a pending obligation for M and P status cases.
EPOU is used to update paternity data for a pending obligation for M and P status case.
Legal Status P case: (Acknowledgment of Paternity on file) paternity has been acknowledged but not adjudicated and support not ordered.
EPOC is used to establish a paternity action (paternity and obligation). Creates a pending obligation for M and P status cases.
EPOU is used to update paternity data for a pending obligation for M and P status cases.
Legal Status I case: Parents are married but separated or the NCP is a female.
ADOC: CSED Obligation Selection List. Is used to initiate a new administrative action.
ADOU: CSED Administrative Order Information. Is used to update data for pending obligations.
Pleadings
All establishment pleadings will be done using the P36 (Petition/Notice of Parentage and Support Obligation).
Hearing Codes
M status case: NOPSO
If setting for the show cause hearing:
Conference or Hearing IND: H (for hearing)
CONF/HEARING TP: PA (for paternity and support)
If setting for genetic testing:
Conference or Hearing IND: G (for genetic test)
CONF/HEARING TP: BT (test bio parent), CH (test child), AT (test NCP)
If a return hearing is needed pending GT results or after signing the P34 (Order for Ack of Paternity and Temporary Support) or P34U (Journal Entry Acknowledging Paternity):
Conference or Hearing IND: H (for hearing)
CONF/HEARING TP: CS (for establish support)
P and I status cases:
Conference or Hearing IND: H (for hearing)
CONF/HEARING TP: CS (for establish support)
AND/OR
Conference or Hearing IND: C (CSS procedure: settlement conference)
CONF/HEARING TP: SC (settlement conference)
